Bede Park - Update

Alert message sent 23/08/2021 09:58:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Good morning all

The Bede Park area has for several weeks been a Westcotes Priority and priorities are often changing depending on the demands and the communities feedback.

There is continued Police and Partners work to reduce issues on the park. In terms of police actions over the recent weeks, there has and will continue to be increased foot patrols of the park and wider area. This includes uniformed and plainclothes officers. This has resulted in stop and search being used, CCTV and in turn pro active arrests.

Last week x1 juvenile was arrested regarding a public order offence and a knife was located by police nearby.

Also a recent Graffiti matter on the foot path was quickly cleared by the Council, the perpetrators identified & as way of restorative justice they conducted litter picking/cleaning of the park.

An Council monitored CCTV camera will be installed on the Park soon and this will compliment the CCTV already on the park.

We are keen to hear local views regarding the Park and how we can best work together. I will update you with future key developments.

Thank you
