Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Officers are appealing for information after workers at a Covid testing site in Leicester were assaulted and abused.

It was reported that at around 2.40pm on Monday 9th August, a woman got out of a van and tried to enter the Covid testing centre at Victoria Park via the exit.

A security guard denied her entry, at which point the woman became verbally abusive. Two further security personnel attempted to diffuse the situation but one was punched in the face and the other spat at. The woman got back into the van with a man and drove away.

The woman is described as mixed race, aged between 16 and 20, around 5’4 tall, with her hair in a bob and wearing white trainers. PC Adam King said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the incident or the man and women in the van. We would also like anyone who may have captured the van on dash cam to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 21*447394.
