Pro-active policing

Alert message sent 08/08/2021 09:18:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Good morning,

I hope you are well.

I would like to take this opportunity to update you on some local policing activity over the last few days.
You may have noticed an increased police presence on Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th August 2021 in around Victoria Road East, Leicester. This was as a direct complaint from members of the public about youths loitering, taking drugs, being anti-social and being generally intimidating in groups.

As a result officers were deployed to Craven Park, Grosvenor Gate, Herongate Rd, Victoria Rd East and the streets nearby to conduct pro-active policing.

In total five people were stop and searched for drugs or weapons and 20 people engaged with and advice given. Officers also conducted a weapons sweep and fortunately nothing was recovered.

Thank you for your patience in this matter.
